Redd’s Pond is located in Marblehead and was the location of Wilmot Redd’s home in 1692. Wilmot Redd, an abrasive woman known by many local fisherman as “Mammy”, was one of 8 accused of witchcraft and was executed by hanging in Salem on September 22, 1692. Wilmot Redd was the only Marblehead citizen executed for witchcraft.

Today, Redd’s pond is a popular spot to fish during the summer months and ice skate during the winter months. On July 4th weekend, during the Festival of the Arts, the pond comes alive with boats during the Sail Boat Regatta.
