Seaside Park became a park in 1895, but before that, it was part of a town-owned farm known as Cow Fort. Its 33.7 acres consist of a baseball diamond, complete with grandstand, a basketball court,  lighted tennis courts, a playground, exercise trails, winter sledding and an open grassy area that is dotted with benches for visitors to utilize to watch sports and various activities.
